Head of Accounting and Tax

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Northern Europe region has a central finance function which covers multiple countries. We are looking to recruit an ambitious Head of Accounting and Tax.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing all day-to-day accounting and tax operations
• Managing implementation of new accounting system and training of team members
• Managing monthly payroll reconciliation and ensure accurate and timely payments to both employees and HRMC
• Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and Intercompany transactions
• Maintaining accounting records in accordance with IFRS
• Supervision and managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Coordinating the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection
• Supervising and managing a team of 8 people
• Working closely with the Business Managers and Heads of Schools to ensure information is readily available for monthly reporting and budget/forecast queries.
• Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
• Preparing and filing of tax returns (direct and indirect taxes)
• Support Senior Transactional Controller with ad hoc tasks when required
• Ensuring that proper, efficient and robust accounting and financial management processes and controls are in place
• Assist with new accounting system (JD Edwards) implementation
