We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated leader to head a team of top AI scientists, governance professionals and ethicists. As a leader you are responsible for defining, implementing, and governing AI processes within a large, highly regulated enterprise. Your role will focus on ensuring the effective, ethical, and legal use of AI technologies while aligning with organizational and regulatory standards. You will serve as a leader in shaping AI and compliance frameworks, and fostering collaboration between business, legal, and technical teams.
We expect you to have a deep understanding of AI systems, data management, and regulatory requirements, with a proven ability to lead governance efforts in a large-scale enterprise setting. Your responsibilities are to:

  • Lead a team of skilled AI researchers and ethicists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and motivation to your team, taking pride in their success as they implement the business strategy you help shape
  • Establish technical guidelines and frameworks for the development, deployment, and operation of AI systems to assess and manage AI risks and benefits, addressing issues related to bias mitigation, fairness, transparency, accountability, security, as well as legal and compliance matters
  • Refine and enhance Novo Nordisk’s existing AI governance policies and procedures to ensure the responsible use of AI and develop new policies to align with evolving best practices and regulations
  • Collaborate closely with data science, engineering, research, and product teams to identify and address ethical concerns related to data collection, modeling, and deployment of AI
  • Lead cross-functional AI governance and process groups to ensure alignment and effective implementation of AI governance policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Business, Ethics, and Compliance team and monitor the ethical use of AI

We also want you to collaborate with legal, privacy, information security, and compliance teams to ensure AI initiatives comply with relevant laws and regulations, you continuesly work with Novo Nordisk’s Public Policy team to engage with external stakeholders and industry associations, and you serve as a subject matter expert on AI governance, supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
