Description:
HEAD OF APAC TAX
Role: As a strategic leader and a key member of the global tax team, this position is responsible for APAC tax compliance and tax planning, supporting and leading various strategic initiatives in the APAC region and beyond. In addition, this role will oversee the income tax provision process for APAC legal entities, and manage the set up of new legal entities as we grow our global footprint. This role reports to Global Head of Tax.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:
- A minimum of 10+ years corporate tax experience. Experience as a tax director of a publicly traded multinational group or of a Big4 required.
- Solid understanding of BEPS global development, including Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 impact to APAC countries.
- Experience with managing and reviewing tax compliance activities for multinational companies.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP tax and related experience in quarterly income tax accounting, reporting and disclosures.
- BA/BS in Business/Accounting or equivalent; Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to converse in Chinese (speaking/reading) a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Oracle a plus
Responsibilities:
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance for more than 20 entities in APAC. Manage income tax provision in accordance with US GAAP, and related disclosures in the financial statements with respect to the APAC entities.
- Formulate various tax strategies, including: cross border, global restructuring, IP management, and withholding tax planning initiatives. Identify potential tax efficiencies, and provide timely guidance to various business leaders.
- Lead strategic tax planning (including strategies to manage impact related to Pillar 1 and Pillar 2); and identify and mitigate tax exposure in the APAC region.
- Support due diligence and tax planning related to mergers & acquisitions and business developments.
- Lead tax related projects, including M&A and related integration, through effective collaboration with cross functional partners.
- Identify and implement process improvement/automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tax processes.
- Monitor and manage income tax and indirect tax audits and controversies for the legal entities in the region.
- Manage and enforce internal controls and processes to minimize the risk of errors.
- Track changes to tax laws, provide sound tax analysis and implement projects to respond to new laws and business initiatives and new business transactions and/or requirements.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities globally, ensuring effective communication and compliance with local tax requirements
