CORE REQUIREMENTS OF THE POST

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the teacher will demonstrate essential professional

• Use the pupil tracking and monitoring process to advance pupil learning and enhance

• priorities of the school SDP;
• Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.
• Lead the Head of Islamic and Social Studies to ensure outstanding provision in these subjects

• Assist in whole school marketing initiatives and contribute to the growth of the school;
• Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school;
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of good practice in teaching techniques;
• Maintain subject(s) or specialism(s) to enable effective teaching;
• Keep knowledge of wider curriculum developments up to date;
• Undertake professional development to enhance teaching and students’ learning, and apply outcomes and identify impact/share outcomes with colleagues;
• Meet responsibilities with regard to health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant legislation and conform to professional and ethical requirements;
• Any other appropriate duties as allocated by members of the school’s leadership team;

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING

• Degree in Arabic Literature or equivalent

Minimum of two years experience teaching

• Experience and expertise with ADEK expectations in an International School setting

• Experience of working and leading within a large Arabic department

• Experience in teaching both Arabs and Non Arabs

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be able to inspire students of all ages and abilities. Classroom resources are plentiful, and expectations are high for achievement for all students. Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents is essential and is a key part of maximising student progress. JOB PURPOSE

To lead all aspects of the Arabic provision of the school such that all students achieve exceptional academic, personal and social outcomes.
