CANDIDATE PROFILE

Potential applicants should have a background of managing and working in Internal Audit but the role covers the provision of Internal Audit, Risk Management, Fraud Services and Insurance. In addition the role will manage the Emergency Planning and Corporate Health and Safety Service.
The role is an exciting opportunity for someone to take on this leadership role, building strong relationships across the organisation, through the professional networks and with the Council’s partners to ensure we have a robust control environment and we’re considering and managing our risk.

Are you a qualified Internal Auditor or Accountant and have a background in Assurance Services? The London Borough of Bexley is currently looking for a new Head of Assurance to join us on a full time basis. The role will require attendance at evening meetings periodically to Committees.
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Corporate Services as the Council’s Section 151 Officer, with a dotted reporting line to the Chief Executive and the Chairman of the General Purposes and Audit Committee, our Head of Assurance as our Chief Internal Auditor needs to provide assurance on the Council’s control environment.
