What are my responsibilities?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Bar to lead our bar team and elevate the overall guest experience. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for mixology, exceptional service, and a knack for creating an inviting and energetic bar environment. As Head of Bar, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar operations, including staff management, inventory control, menu development, and guest satisfaction.

  • Leadership & Management: Supervise and mentor bar staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to maintain team motivation and efficiency.
  • Bar Operations: Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and adherence to health and safety regulations. Ensure smooth service and high-quality beverage preparation at all times.
  • Menu Development: Design and implement innovative cocktail menus and beverage offerings that align with the hotel’s brand and guest preferences. Regularly update the menu to reflect seasonal trends and customer feedback.
  • Inventory Management: Manage bar inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking stock levels. Implement cost-control measures to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
  • Guest Experience: Create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests. Address any concerns or special requests promptly to ensure exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Training & Development: Provide ongoing training to bar staff on product knowledge, service techniques, and health & safety standards. Encourage continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote bar events, special offers, and themed nights. Develop strategies to increase bar revenue and attract new guests.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including liquor licensing laws and responsible alcohol service practices.

To be eligible for this position you…

  • Proven experience in a senior bar management role, preferably within a lifestyle hotel or high-end hospitality setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of mixology, cocktail trends, and beverage pairings.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service and food safety preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Can communicate fluently in English.
