KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Responsible for triaging and allocating workload across the multifunctional team to ensure high-quality client deliverables that are optimised, timely and meet commercial requirements.
  • Review and update budget pricing models that reflect the market to be used as a competitive pricing and sales tool.
  • Ensure that final study budgets and Scope of Work (SOW) have been agreed with the client and internal stakeholders prior to contract development.
  • Develop, review and update proposal & RFI templates to be an effective market-leading sales tool and satisfy all business requirements.
  • Work with the operational departments to understand and model out-of-scope budget amendments to projects.
  • Negotiate and obtain client agreement to changes in scope.
  • Review and develop RFPs, proposals, budget development and change order processes to deliver high-quality deliverables within agreed timelines.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of Business Development during the sales process and client interactions in negotiating and finalising the study approach and budget.
  • Maintain the forecast of the potential change order revenue by study and business unit.
  • Ensure an effective handover of the study budget and SOW to the operational departments for awarded studies.
  • Report functional key performance indicators to the CCO, providing input into commercial business planning.
  • Provide leadership and development of the Proposal and Budget Development team through coaching and mentoring, conducting regular individual reviews and team meetings.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Head of Budget Development & Proposals to join our Commercial team where you will be responsible for leading and managing the Budget Development and Proposals team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality proposals and budgets within the required timelines. You will collaborate with Business Development during client discussions throughout the sales process to support securing profitable study sales and works closely with the operational teams to ensure out-of-scope revenue is captured and signed change orders are in place to maximise revenue.
Will report on key performance indicators to support commercial business planning activities with the Chief Commercial Officer. Will drive high-quality delivery of proposals, RFIs, budget development, pricing tools and change orders to ensure delivery of the commercial pipeline. Provides leadership and line management to support the team’s development and conduct quality reviews of deliverables.
