REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, or a related field
  • 5+ years work experience in business development, customer insights and project management in retail or e-Commerce
  • 2+ years leadership experience
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to drive growth and profitability
  • Knowledge and frequent usage of Project Management & Process Improvement tools and techniques
  • Proven experience of business forecasting and business case creation
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills, including towards top management
  • High customer focus, data-driven decision making and problem-solving mentality are a must
  • Experience in the Beauty and/or Pharma industries a plus
  • Fluent in German and English

Responsibilities:

The Head of Business Development is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to drive online sales growth, manage financial performance, and optimize key performance metrics while building and leading a cross-functional team. This role also involves establishing a new reporting structure, overseeing project management initiatives, and fostering strategic partnerships to ensure the organization’s long-term success in a competitive market.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive eCommerce strategies to drive online sales growth, enhance customer engagement, and increase market share
  • Commercial Steering: Oversee the financial performance of the eCommerce business, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Ensure profitability by managing cost structures, setting sales targets, and aligning the eCommerce roadmap with overall business objectives. Collaborate with finance and operations teams to align commercial activities with financial goals and drive sustainable growth
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all digital channels such as NPS, traffic, conversion rates, average order value, and customer acquisition costs. Use data analytics tools to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance the user experience and maximize revenue
  • Reporting Structure Development: Build and establish a new business reporting structure for the eCommerce group, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of key metrics and financial performance. Implement systems and processes for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making and strategic planning across the organization
  • Project Management Initiatives: Lead project management initiatives to implement identified business opportunities. This includes planning, executing, and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes
  • Team Development & Leadership: Build and lead a cross-functional team comprising marketing, sales, technology, and customer service professionals. Foster a collaborative environment, set performance goals, and ensure continuous professional development. Focus on recruiting and developing talent to achieve eCommerce objectives as the team is still being established
