Description:
To ensure all patients requiring access to outpatient appointments, diagnostics and elective inpatient or day-case treatment are managed equitably and consistently, in line with national cancer waiting time standards and the NHS Constitution. To support the strategic planning and implementation of local cancer services within the locality and wider Cancer network in conjunction with the Trust Lead Clinician, Director of Cancer Services, Trust Executive Board, Network Team and other key stakeholders. Lead on the delivery of the national targets and recommendations, reporting achievements and key risk factors, and developing recommendations to address areas of non-compliance. To ensure delivery of Trust performance levels with regard to internally monitored metrics.
To ensure that the Trust accurately reports its Cancer performance both internally and externally. To provide reports to the Executive Board on all areas of cancer waiting times; both through formal meetings and through regular updates as appropriate. Be the Trust lead for data quality related to the Cancer Registry To develop and maintain a training strategy for cancer waiting times across the Trust. To maintain effective, constructive relationships with partners in other acute hospital trusts, ICB, Cancer Alliances, NHS England and Improvement with regard to the trusts Cancer performance.
To provide these partners with relevant reporting, information and recovery plans as required. To lead on monitoring performance related penalties associated with delivery of cancer standards Responsible as line manager of team within own service in line with appropriate policies, procedures, working practices and guidelines, ensuring all resources are deployed to maximise an efficient and effective delivery of services to patients and users. Provide regular performance reports on progress, status and achievements for own area to be used by both Management and Users. To deputise for the Deputy COO Elective Care Performance and Recovery as required at internal and external meetings related to cancer performance.
