UK Retail Banking is core in the successful delivery of the HBUK and WPB global strategy. UK Retail Banking has end to end Journey ownership for the most significant customer journeys in the UK, including Buying a Home, Unsecured Lending and Everyday Banking.

- Delivering best in class end to end journeys that allow all our customers to easily meet their financial needs

WPB UK has 20 million cards in circulation and is a huge scale multifaceted business. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact to our customers to ensure our journeys work and resolve issues quickly. Over our card estate we have dual schemes Mastercard and Visa which adds to intricacy of the management of our systems.

In this role you will:
- Lead the cards functions to ensure customer journeys operate effectively and efficiently
- Drive the operational elements of the card processes and journeys
- Play a pivotal role in bringing together various teams who are key in ensuring the cards journeys work but sit outside of the direct remit of WPB, such as Information Technology and Operations
- Own the risk oversight and the controls of the cards journey
- Provide inspirational leadership embedding the Retail Banking strategic ambitions and driving team engagement
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Deep technical expert in Unsecured card management having previously led teams to deliver across a broad scorecard of customer and conduct
- Experience in setting strategic direction for an organistion, galvanizing stakeholders outside of direct line management and delivering across the matrix
- History of cards journey management
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to show thought leadership
- Excellent understanding of current and future regulatory environment
This role is based in Birmingham, Leeds, Chester, Sheffield or London.
