REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications and Skills

  • PHD/Masters/Degree in sales, marketing, or any other business-related field
  • A minimum of 12 years working experience in a senior management position, preferably as a head of advertising sales/ advertising operations/ advertising technology
  • A minimum of 10 years of work experience in the broadcasting industry and/or within a competitive media industry that have exposure to the relevant market segment
  • Strong appreciation of Entertainment / Media industry

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team responsible for driving revenue generation and growth for the list of clients or agencies tagged under Government, SME and Regional through proactive hunting and strategic relationship building to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of client’s business landscape, including their brands, ongoing challenges, and upcoming brand or product launches. This understanding should extend to the competitive environment within which the client operates, enabling meaningful conversations with top management, including C-level executives.
  • Stay updated with clients’ financial performance and standing (through annual reports etc.) to ensure informed discussions and alignment with their business objectives.
  • Guide the team in collaborating with clients to understand their advertising budgets and ensure effective utilization of allocated funds. This includes the development of Joint Business Partnership (JBP) on a yearly basis, outlining strategies and initiatives to drive mutual business growth and ensuring adherence to agreed-upon spending targets.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the advertising solutions available across Astro’s diverse mediums. This includes effectively communicating Astro’s capabilities, credentials, and business updates to reinforce Astro’s position as the ideal advertising partner for clients.
  • Understanding the above in relation with competitor offerings and industry needs
  • Stay well-versed in case studies and best practices from previous successful campaigns executed by the company, leveraging this knowledge to engage and intrigue clients and prospects.
  • Primary owner of JBP with clients and empower the team in proactively solicit campaign briefs (Client Proposal Request or CPR) from clients, ensuring that they contain significant information regarding campaign objectives, challenges, key messaging, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as stipulated in the CPR form.
  • Develop comprehensive campaign KPIs in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Be a business segment custodian to collaborate with various teams at Astro, including Content, Product, Marketing, Digital and Group Data, to develop advertising products that can be monetized at scale to maximize revenue opportunities and grow adex potential.
  • Facilitate the integration of client feedback into product development processes to enhance AMSs offerings.
  • Work with Client Solutions to analyze post campaign performance and provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients to optimize their future marketing investments.
  • Attend industry events to network and stay abreast of market trends, using insights to inform client solution.
  • Collaborate with HR to review the capability and skills of the resources and pivoting quickly to ensure we have the right people, with the right skills to engage with clients on new advertising strategies and products
