The vacancy is working as part of a JV for Anthro (Egis & VVB Engineering) to support the HS2 Old Oak Common station project where we are managing the MEPHFC package of work.
Job Description
The Head of Commercial Management will lead and be responsible for all commercial aspects of the business, reporting directly to the CEO.
Accountable for managing commercial risk and communicating this across a variety of stakeholders within the business and ensuring that governance and reporting processes are in place to mitigate it.
You will ideally have worked in the Rail sector and have worked on joint venture projects. The role is based at Acton, West London. You will need to be in the project office 4 days a week.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience of leading large teams and strong leadership in a complex environment (senior level experience of policy and direction setting of practical and effective strategic sourcing and supply chain contracts)
  • Strong supplier engagement and development skills to drive effective contract and supplier relationship management
  • Best practice supply chain management within relevant market to push benefits delivery (financial and non financial) within project environment
  • Proven experience of client management
  • Proven experience of negotiation
  • Previous experience working large MEP projects
  • Previous experience working within the M&E sector
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
  • Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driver’s license

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of NEC contracts (all options)
  • Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of Construction law and standard forms of contract
  • Knowledge of Engineering and client standards
  • Knowledge and demonstratable understanding of financial management
  • Adept knowledge of MS packages inc, Excel, Project and Word

Responsibilities:

  • Drive excellence in the provision of visibility, insight and expertise into supply markets across the various category groups and the use of this information and other available resources to inform strategic direction and decision making
  • Lead the development and management of positive supplier relationships through open and constructive dialogue
  • Direct and implement clear sourcing strategies for designated portfolio, driving best practice processes and systems in areas of pre-contract management for projects and programmes in their relevant areas
  • Lead the negotiation of high value, complex contracts to support delivery of business priorities and manage the efficient and effective delivery of those contacts, where applicable
  • Provide means of control and compliance through effective policies, procedures and delegated authority structures
  • Mitigate potential business risk through contractual, commercial and claims management support
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, customers and suppliers and act as a figurehead for the function providing visible leadership both within and outside the programme in promoting commercial in a professional and positive way
  • Develop and implement programmes and initiatives to improve safety, quality and efficiency
  • Oversee the management of procurement and commercial activity within a designated function and project areas
