The Communications team creates and manages our narrative. Working closely with senior stakeholders, they deploy our stories strategically through press, online media and internal comms to build our reputation. Our high-profile reputation helps grow our business by indirectly selling our technology and positions Dyson as a great place to work. The team is responsible for a range of communications from public relations and business, products and launches to internal messaging and events.

Accountabilities

  • As part of the Home Communications team, you will be responsible for all NPD and Non-NPD campaigns for Home. A particular focus will be on campaigns that enable Dyson to sustain social and media coverage beyond new products.
  • Demonstrate high business acumen and understanding of Dyson. Provide strategic communications advice to the Home Leadership team.
  • Devise and implement excellent internal and external communications strategies, narratives and plans, focused on telling stories around our core technology, our machines, our corporate stories, our people and places and the Dyson philosophy.
  • Regional media outreach – work with regional teams to define and implement a regional and local strategy and execution for engagement, and events and awards.
  • Work alongside broader Communications team to implement a strategic direction of influencers across the Home space, ensuring that markets work with the right profiles, supporting teams with local narratives and content briefs.
  • Integrated 360 comms: Work in partnership with the broader Communications team to deliver communications strategies to deploy in a 360 way, through harnessing the impact of earned, owned and paid..
  • Oversee product-related reactive communications, including issue management and Home competitor activity. You will develop close connections with external facing teams (esp. Customer service and retail teams) to ensure consistency in communication.
  • Drive the continuation and development of new formats and platforms in interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Be it online, on social media channels, as well as in traditional media.
  • Media monitoring and campaign measurement to know what media are saying about our products, and to understand the impact and effectiveness of our campaigns. Oversee in-depth real-time monitoring, analysis reporting, and response to press coverage and social media interactions on a timely basis and across a wide spectrum of media. Identify emerging issues and opportunities facing the organization and design strategies to manage their impact including crisis management.
  • Work with regional teams to build and host event activations, both online and offline. Ensure all local Home events are well attended and high impact, while adhering to global guidelines

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a dynamic and well-organised Head of Communications to develop and support the strategic direction and execution of Dyson’s approach to Home Communications globally.
As a key member of the Communications team, this individual will be responsible for leading our Home communications strategy globally. You will be at the leading edge of our proactive and reactive communications, telling high quality stories to explain the Home narrative. You will be responsible for the planning, execution and creative ideation, both virtual and physical, of all our Home NPD and Non-NPD communications campaigns.
You will have outstanding relationships with key media, and an innate ability to find and articulate inspiring stories which weave together multiple narratives. You will be able to set up engaging campaigns that enable Dyson to sustain social and media coverage beyond new products as well as wider day-to-day market support.
