Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Communications to lead our communications strategy during an exciting period of transformation. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for shaping the public narrative around the council’s key initiatives and enhancing the visibility of Redbridge on a regional and national scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies that align with corporate strategies.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the council’s communications, including campaigns, media relations, digital communications.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Leader and Cabinet, senior corporate leaders, local media, residents, businesses, and partners.
  • Promote Redbridge as a great place to live, work, and invest, highlighting the borough’s achievements and ongoing projects.
  • Ensure clear, consistent, and proactive communication across all channels, addressing the diverse needs of our community in the context of Equity and Inclusion.
  • Lead a team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
