HYBRID – LONDON/BIRMINGHAM/CASTLE DONNINGTON/BRISTOL
How can we reform UK connections?
If you are passionate about finding a solution, this could be just the opportunity for you!
This role is certainly not for a wall flower – we are looking for our voice on connections reform.
You will create and deliver a strategy that drives National Grid Energy Distribution’s (NGED) ambition to be a best-in-sector connections provider.
You will be NGED’s primary senior representative for all aspects of reform and externally known as an influential professional in this space. You will have gained your experience in connections strategy and policy from a DNO, supplier, consultancy, or developer.
As an already established senior leader, you will be a big thinker and skilled in strategy development. You will also know how to grow a team and have a passion for driving excellence. You will own and run the connections SteerCo, ensuring the executive leadership group is kept up to date with connections reform and wider developments.
You and your team’s primary objective will be to proactively influence reform and policy development to improve ‘the queue’, improve customer experience and uncover new market opportunities. You and your team will be driving improved stakeholder and customer engagement. Your team will develop opportunities and innovation, whilst assessing risk and financial business cases.
You will be the external advocate for connections, creating excellent stakeholder relationships at the most senior levels across the industry. Attending industry events and forums, using your gravitas and technical understanding to influence change.
If you want to be the person that creates solutions to improve the connections pipeline, the person who could really impact the UK’s transition to renewable energy and accelerate our transition to Net Zero, then don’t hesitate to apply!
