Summary
We are looking for a “Head of Contracts & Commercial (f/m/d)” for the “Contracts & Commercial” department in Ulm or Taufkirchen as soon as possible.
The Contracts & Commercial department is responsible for all tasks related to the preparation and processing of commercial offers. These mainly relate to offers in an international context and to complex system solutions and provider structures.

Your Tasks

  • Disciplinary and technical management of the employees in the “Contracts & Commercial” department
  • Guidance and coordination of all contractual and commercial topics in cooperation with Bid Management and Sales as well as all other functions involved in the preparation of offers, in particular Finance & Control, Treasury, Legal and Programs
  • Preparing the commercial part of customer bids and coordinating all bid-related commercial activities, including conducting contract negotiations with customers and implementing the resulting changes/additions to the bid and contract documents
  • Participate in defining the bid strategy and ensure that best practice solutions are incorporated into the bids.
  • Responsible for the risk assessment in relation to the commercial aspects of the offer, taking into account all framework conditions relevant to the offer, such as public procurement rules in the customer country, tax regulations and existing contractual agreements between the parties
  • Defining appropriate risk mitigation strategies and ensuring that these are incorporated into the bid and contract documents
  • In strategic and complex projects, support the purchasing department to ensure that customer requirements are passed on to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Development of new standards to simplify and accelerate the bidding process and continuously improve the quality of bids
  • Working closely with the RMC (Risk Management Committee) function with the aim of preparing bids effectively and providing management with a transparent basis for decision-making
  • Maintaining, expanding and promoting close cooperation with HENSOLDT’s internal departments that are also involved in the bidding process, such as other finance functions, sales, legal and programs
  • Ensuring and supporting competence and personnel development within the department

Your Profile

  • Completed studies in the field of business administration, industrial engineering, law or similar
  • Extensive experience in the commercial sector or in functions related to bid management, such as sales, marketing or bid management
  • Management experience and experience abroad advantageous
  • Structured and independent way of working
  • High degree of initiative and commitment
  • Very good communication skills and strong negotiating skills
  • Business fluent English skills
