QUALIFICATION
- Ideal formal qualification: PhD in a biomedical field
- At least 3-5 years job experience in a related position
Responsibilities:
YOUR NEW ROLE
- Build up and lead a team of domain experts for annotation of biomedical literature (e.g. annotating Named Entities & biomedical relations)
- Communicate with stakeholders and AI developers to identify and define relevant information for annotation
- Document and develop annotation procedures as well as necessary domain knowledge in annotation guidelines
- Train annotators on developed annotation guidelines
- Perform quality control of annotations for the construction of reliable and valid datasets that are useful to AI development (calculate inter-annotator agreement, resolve disagreements, discussions with annotators etc.)
- Support the development of and participate in AI model evaluation by human experts
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Recruitment and supervision of qualified expert annotators
- Continuous education and training of annotators on project requirements as well as staying up to date within the domain
- Contribution of own ideas and expertise to identify potential use cases for the AI development team
- Close cooperation and alignment with stakeholders and AI development team
- Active contribution of comprehensive domain knowledge to the following steps of AI development: Problem Identification & Definition, Approach Conception, Data Collection and Annotation, Approach Evaluation
- Supervision and quality control of data annotation process
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- Background in biomedical science
- Experience with data annotation and/or ontologies
- Experience building and leading a team
- Experience understanding research literature of various biomedical fields, e.g. cancer, immunology, microbiology etc.Experience with computational linguistics is advantageous
