ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Head of Data Management & Governance, you will lead the strategic development and activation of our data governance framework, embedding consistent data management practices across data, technology, and business domains. This role will be instrumental in enhancing data quality, integrity, and security, while ensuring data is discoverable and leveraged effectively to drive business insights and competitive advantage. You’ll establish a structure that aligns business data requirements with strategic goals, enabling robust data-driven decisions and regulatory compliance.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Strategic Leadership: Define and implement an organisation-wide data governance strategy, creating policies, standards, and practices that improve data findability, accessibility, and reuse for enhanced business decision-making.
- Data Management & Quality: Drive data management practices that enhance data accuracy, reliability, and security, supporting business functions in identifying critical data assets and measuring data quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, business domain leads, data scientists, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective data and metadata management strategies. Lead cross-domain change management and support data proficiency and literacy across the organisation.
- Technology & Innovation: Explore and implement data governance tools to enhance data standardisation, quality monitoring, and the discoverability of data assets. Integrate data cataloguing and market-place tooling for improved data awareness.
- Build and mentor a high-performing Data Office team, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Support professional development and continuous learning to achieve team objectives.
- Governance & Compliance: Establish governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance. Conduct regular audits and reviews, implementing corrective actions as needed to uphold data standards and mitigate risks.
