We are looking to recruit a Head of Digital Commerce & Insights, to lead the development and execution of the digital commerce strategy for GPN Europe. The successful candidate will have responsibility for building and implementing Digital Channel strategies that enable GPN to scale existing business, and also tap into new retail models, platforms and partnerships to unlock future sources of growth. They will have strategic ownership for key Digital Channels across Europe as well as Co-ownership and accountability for digital commercial budgets and performance. The role requires strong collaboration with Central Functions and European Markets, to ensure best in class collaboration and execution of the Digital strategy, and the continual building of capabilities to facilitate growth.
This role will be based in London, reports to the E-Commerce Director for Europe and sits within the E-Commerce Centre of Excellence. The remit will span across Europe so the candidate will need strong networking and communication skills to navigate and influence across a complex multi-functional and geographical stakeholder network. The role will have responsibility for building and developing a high performing team operating across Europe and will work closely with the E-Commerce Director, Heads of DTC & Retail Media as well as Commercial & Marketing Teams in Market. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering across a breadth of challenging roles. The candidate needs to be commercially minded, with a strong growth mindset and have excellent leadership skills, with a natural ability to inspire and galvanize teams.
Leading the Europe Marketplace strategy, including i) full strategy-to-execution of Amazon Continental Europe, ii) strategic consultation with the UK market on Amazon UK, iii) scaling & maximizing GPN’s existing marketplace business (Bol, Decathlon) and iv) leading the strategic expansion into new marketplaces (geographies and platforms) across Europe.
Leading the development of a Pureplay & Bricks & Clicks strategy (across B2C & B2B) - working collaboratively with markets to deploy expertise and tools that can be adapted to compliment the local Retail strategy, to support key customers achieve their online growth objectives.
Strategic collaboration on the Social Commerce and Q Com agenda, building capability and partnerships internally and externally, to enable strong execution in market.
Responsibility for performance delivery and reporting across GPN Europe’s Digital Commerce channels (excl DTC) against Commercial and Digital KPIs.
Leading the E-Commerce Data, Analytics & Insights strategy – ensuring GPN has effective tools and partnerships in place to serve the strategy and allow the team to deploy powerful insights that drive decision making and commercial action. And leading the evolution of the strategy to advance GPN Europe’s tech and tools in line with Global projects and ambitions.
Drive GPN’s Digital Shelf Optimisation agenda – perfecting GPN’s brand footprint online through optimized content and the best brand visibility and availability.
Building and leading a high performing team – across Amazon & Marketplaces Europe, Data, Analytics & Insights – providing direction, coaching and development
Collaboration with the Head of DTC and Head of Retail Media to build best in class partnerships and ways of working both within the COE and with Central Functions & Markets. Working closely with the Head of DTC to share best practice, and with the Head of Retail Media to collaborate on / influence the Amazon & Retail Media strategy, ensuring GPN wins in Search and Media to recruit and convert consumers into the category.
Collaboration with x-functional teams including In-Market Commercial and Marketing teams as well as Brand/Marketing, I&A, Supply, Innovation, Creative & Tech teams.
Agency & partner evaluation and collaboration across digital channels
European Channel wide thought leadership and strategic thinking to bring innovative digital growth initiatives that enable GPN to maximise the digital opportunity and deliver against the 3 year growth strategy
The Skills you will bring to the team
5+ years E-Com experience and Amazon experience is a must. Offline Commercial experience also preferred.
Commercially minded, strong negotiator and creative / strategic thinker
Strong in communication and networking to navigate and influence a complex stakeholder matrix
Action orientated. Able to zoom in and out of the detail and cut through complexity to drive decision making
Growth mindset and relentless in pursuit of growth
Knowledge of digital marketing and retail media is preferred
Strong analytical skills and data driven thinking – able to cut through complex data and deliver powerful insights
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative strategies that drive business results.
Comfortable presenting and influencing at all levels of an organisation and highly competent in the creation of presentations
Comfortable leading cross-functional projects to deliver high impact result
Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably within the technology or e-commerce industry.
