Description:

The head of digital has the responsibility of translating the digital marketing efforts into a cohesive strategy for our clients. The head of digital must be able to collaborate with different teams to ensure brand consistency. As the head of digital, you should demonstrate excellent digital skills combined with knowledge of the latest marketing techniques.
The head of digital should ultimately, be able to plan and deliver an effective digital strategy to achieve our business goals. The head of digital should be continuously building the digital capability within the agency as well as training the team. They should also be up to date with the latest tech developments and share these with the team.
The head of digital is accountable to the MD (Havas Media South Africa) for the digital aspects of the job and the social media aspect of the job.

Industry knowledge – Good understanding of new developments in our industry, in clients’ industries and in technology
Business sense – Has an understanding of the financial implication of marketing on a client’s business

Responsibilities:

Build digital capability within the agency
Each team must have access to relevant training
Ensure that teams are up to date with latest tech developments
Map digital capabilities to strategic priorities. Digital won’t get the visibility or support it needs if it’s not helping the company get where it wants to go
Develop and administer the digital project portfolio
Create and document processes for digital work, including supplying templates
Develop ways to attract and retain top talent. Companies often have more mature visions for digital than they do skills
Review all digital work leaving the agency
Ensure that digital work comes in on budget and on time
Assisting the CSO with creation of digital strategies
Briefing/Assisting in briefing major campaigns/social media
Build a digital implementation team within the agency
Ensuring management of agency digital/social platforms
Briefing minor creative (banners)
Project management
