Description:

HEAD OF EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Castlefield Recruitment are working in partnership with a Public Sector organisation based in the Greater Manchester that requires an experienced Head of Employee Relations on a full-time permanent basis

KEY EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS WILL INCLUDE;

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • CIPD Qualified and Chartered Member of the CIPD
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development as a HR Practitioner
  • Significant operational HR and ER experience
  • Extensive HR and ER experience demonstrating competency in performance management, change management, TUPE and employee relations in large complex organisations
  • Experience of developing and monitoring effective workforce policies in liaison with trade union representatives.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies – completing management investigations, grievances, discipline, appeals, performance management, capability and organisational change (redundancy)
  • Experience of working in partnership with Trade Unions towards shared goals sound understanding of HR best practice and employment law

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Manchester M

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure consistency of application of HR policies, processes and practices, to incorporate the organisation’s value of Respect in everyday practice
  • Lead the review of workforce policies and procedures ensuring they are in line with best practice
  • Oversee the progress of employee relations cases and projects against plans and milestones
  • Advise the Director of Human Resources on upcoming changes to employment legislation that may have implications on employee contractual arrangements and/or policies
  • Provide technical advice and support to the team and managers through the stages of ER cases such as disciplinary, capability, grievance, dignity at work
  • Closely monitor the delivery of a large number of investigations, engaging all relevant staff and ensuring the timescales are set and deadlines are achieved
