Description:

Our new Leighton Health and Care Neighbourhood is a once in a generation opportunity to transform health and care in Mid Cheshire for now and the future.
We will develop a state-of-the-art facility that is designed with the health and care needs of our communities at the heart. We want to seek to truly understand our communities, the population we serve and the people who work for us. The New Leighton health and care neighbourhood will be underpinned by our exciting programme of engagement, involvement and co-design. By working together across our health and care partners and our local population we can use this opportunity to design services that transform care for people’s needs today and those of our communities in the future.
The post holder will lead the continued adoption of our Trust’s own ‘Better Engagement’ framework, creating a deployment plan which is fully inclusive to ensure we are able to reach and involve those communities and patient cohorts that may not easily make their voices heard.

Responsibilities:

  • Engagement, Involvement & Participation
  • Leadership and Management
  • Service Improvement
  • Key relationships
Please see attached job description for full details of the main duties.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and emergency care, cardiac, critical care, child health, maternity services and intermediate care at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.
The Trust provides over 500 beds and employs over 5,100 members of staff. A comprehensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools through our Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership.
We have played, and continue to play, a proactive role in the development of Integrated Care plans across Cheshire & Merseyside and our local Cheshire East and Cheshire West Place-based systems. We believe, and it is the cornerstone of our five-year Trust Strategy, there is the opportunity to progress innovative, responsive and effective care in the best setting for the patient, be it in the hospital or out in the community.
At Mid Cheshire, our mission is to inspire hope and provide unparalleled care for the people and communities of Cheshire, helping them to enjoy life to the fullest.
We welcome all applicants and assess all job applications based on knowledge, skills and experience needed for the post.
Working with the CMO, Patient Experience teams and the Healthier Futures project management team and with various departments across the Trust, you will make it easier for the public to engage with us, to become involved in our work and to ensure that the lived experience of our service users helps shape the future of our services and our new hospital. You will design and champion methodologies for true co-design, co-creation and co-production across our strategies, our improvement collaboratives, our new hospital programme and the design and development of our services.
You will work with clinical and operational leaders to develop a programme of engagement, involvement and participation with lived experience at its core, ensuring there is a clear link between the Healthier Futures programme, service development and transformation and patient and public involvement activity.
You will lead on the development and delivery of a programme of work which has the aims of reducing health inequalities at its core, ensuring that these priorities are reflected across all design stages of the Healthier Futures programme and Leighton Health and Care Neighbourhood
