Description:

  • We are looking to hire a reliable and well-experienced Head of Engineering to join our capable team of professionals in the agribusiness sector.
  • To be successful in this role, the candidate will oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance agricultural operations.
  • This role requires a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and industry knowledge to drive our engineering strategy and support the growth and efficiency of our business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Agricultural, Mechanical, Civil, or related field); master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the agribusiness or related sector.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in modern engineering tools, technologies, and project management software.
  • Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Experience with precision agriculture technologies, IoT, automation, and AI in agriculture.
  • Familiarity with global agribusiness trends and challenges.
  • Experience working in a multinational or diverse cultural environment.
  • Ability to innovate and drive change.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering department, including planning, development, and execution of engineering projects.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the company’s agribusiness goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research and development, operations, and product management to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Drive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies and methodologies in agricultural engineering.
  • Lead the development of sustainable and scalable engineering solutions that improve agricultural productivity and sustainability.
  • Oversee all engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Implement best practices for project management, including risk management, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
  • Ensure the integration of modern technologies, tools, and methodologies in engineering processes.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the engineering teams.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Communicate engineering progress, challenges, and solutions to senior management and other relevant parties.
