Description:

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages large and complex portfolios, consisting of multiple unrelated projects with significant impact / risk.
  • Partners with senior colleagues, key stakeholders and peers to ensure alignment on portfolio objectives, coverage, schedules / milestones, dependencies and success criteria; prepares regular updates for senior audiences.
  • Interprets business priorities to determine and adapt specific programme requirements and establishes detailed plans, to ensure portfolio requirements (including resources, equipment, budgets, etc.) are documented and agreed by key stakeholders.
  • Oversees portfolio progress / changes and provides regular reports to stakeholders; manages defined budget(s) effectively and focuses teams on the timely delivery of defined programme objectives.
  • Initiates debriefs to understand lessons learned and identifies areas for potential improvement; shares best practices with colleagues and peers.
  • Provides technical support, coaching and advice to portfolio and project management colleagues.
  • Provides mentorship and expert advice to colleagues, driving the technical capabilities of the team through implementation of effective training programmes.
  • Complies with the function’s safety and ethics rules and processes, and demonstrates strong leadership of Imperial’s Values & Behaviours.

Responsibilities:

A key part of the role is owning the Programme Lifecycle methodology and leading the refinement of our deployment framework. You’ll also manage and enhance the Planview Portfolio system, ensuring data accuracy for decision-making, while providing training and support to colleagues. This position is ideal for someone with experience in building and managing integrated portfolio plans who thrives in a dynamic, transformation-focused environment
We are seeking a strategic leader to join our Enterprise Portfolio Management team. In this role, you will oversee the Global intake process for identifying and approving Strategic Programmes, while managing and optimising the integrated portfolio plan. You’ll also own the Global 5-year Transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment across Imperial’s footprint and minimising risk while maximising value.
