Description:

Head of Facilities and Sustainability
The Head of Facilities and Sustainability is a senior leadership role at Highfield Healthcare, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with leadership teams. This position ensures the efficient and compliant operation of all facility management functions, including catering, maintenance, reception, housekeeping, laundry, and external contractor management, while aligning these functions with Highfield Healthcare’s strategic goals and Health and Safety obligations. This role requires a leader adept at managing organisational change, including the adoption of sustainability practices, technological advancements, and evolving operational strategies.
The role oversees diverse teams and contractors, embedding operational excellence and sustainability practices across all activities. A key focus of the role is integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles directly relevant to facilities management, such as waste management, energy efficiency, resource conservation, and ethical supplier practices. A strong emphasis is placed on the ability to manage relationships with Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)/Total Facilities Management (TFM) providers to ensure seamless integration of outsourced services with Highfield Healthcare’s operations.
The Head of Facilities and Sustainability also ensures compliance with health and safety regulations specific to healthcare facilities, fosters a culture of accountability, and drives initiatives to deliver cost-effective, high-quality, and sustainable service outcomes.
This role requires an experienced leader with demonstrated expertise in facilities management, ESG integration, health and safety compliance, and operational efficiency with a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams, contractor relationships, and resource optimisation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities management, with at least 3+ years in leadership roles in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise of supplier management, and operational efficiency and expert knowledge of ESG integration requirements.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety compliance within healthcare settings.
  • Experience with CMMS and data analysis tools such as Power BI is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change management initiatives in large or complex organisations.
  • Strong communication skills and experience of managing a diverse team.
  • Proven experience in managing IFM and TFM providers in complex environments, including healthcare or similar industries.
