YOU WILL NEED

• Qualified to degree level or equivalent professional qualification or holding significant relevant industry experience
• Teaching qualification such as CertEd, PGCE, BA (hons) in Education
• Leadership and Management Training
• Strong knowledge of the characteristics of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and how this can be achieved
• Experience of using and analysing management information to drive improvements
• Substantial evidence of commitment to ongoing professional updating and development

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead Vocational curriculum and cross-college SEND support? Are you passionate and knowledgeable about SEND, teaching, learning and assessment? We are looking for a strong curriculum leader to join the team to lead the VFL & ALS Faculty across our Alton Campus.
This role requires an organised, motivational manager to help teaching teams raise teaching and learning standards and provide excellent student support to enable strong progress for all students in the faculty. As Head of Faculty, you will lead a vocational provision which meets the needs of the community, employers and universities, develops students’ employability skills and enables progression. You will also lead on the implementation of high-quality cross campus additional learning support for all learners with SEND and additional learning needs.

37 hours a week / 52 weeks per year
Salary: Grade 6 Spine Point 31 - £50,626.29 (Fixed Point)
Contract type: Permanent

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• To lead on timetabling and maximising staff utilisation, resources, and financial contribution within the curriculum.
• To conduct observations of all teaching staff and lead improvements in performance or dissemination of good teaching, learning and assessment practices.
• Managing Learning Support Staff and other staff responsible for EHCP processes
• To ensure inspirational and effective learning environments and resources.
• To monitor and improve student attendance, progress, and progression.
• Work with the Assistant Principal in the planning and delivery of a highly relevant curriculum offer, particularly focussing on the needs of employers.
• Conduct and manage close liaison with parents and carers regarding student progress, progression, behaviour, and welfare issues.
