Description:
We are seeking a Head of Finance Business Performance to steer our financial strategies and drive exceptional business results. In this leadership role, you’ll collaborate closely with executive teams to optimize performance and guide our financial vision.
You will also bring a commercial lens and be the link between the finance revenue and operational teams as well as our key stakeholders. Your strategic vision and hands-on approach to drive business engagement will be pivotal in the success of this role.
Key responsibilities of this role include..
- Provide direction and leadership that will enable the Business Performance Planning function to achieve Synlait targets.
- Leading the Business Performance and all various strategic project agenda’s for Synlait ensuring all requirements for reporting, planning and budgeting are met and delivered.
- Support the CFO to drive business financial performance across the group and support the Executive Leadership Team to achieve strategic targets through lifting the finance team output and influence.
- Own and manage the executive business performance reporting to CFO/CEO and Board.
- Strong leadership of all financial aspects of milk price including, but not limited to, board papers, forecasting, recommendations of advance rates, payments and calculation of milk accrual.
- Lead various internal/external benchmarking review and analysis from premium sales to excellent operations
- Ensuring key stakeholder relationships are maintained by open communication of issues, co-ordination of key stakeholder’s and defined roles and responsibilities to drive the best result.
- Provide financial and analytical advice and insights on performance, business cases, and overall strategy.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate for this role will bring a wealth of experience in financial management at a senior level. You will be a proactive leader with extensive experience in finance leadership roles as well as developing collaboration and innovation within teams.

- You will have a CA/CFA qualification (or equivalent) and a proven track record in a similar role.
- Previous experience engaging with Executive teams and Boards in a larger mature organization.
- M&A experience preferred.
- A solid understanding of the company’s business drivers and the ability to provide advice so previous experience within the dairy industry preferred.
- Ability to assess and link operational decisions against longer-term strategic goals.
- Able to demonstrate in their career path an ability to drive change in a team, process or function.
- Strong ability to communicate capabilities and ability to build a clear, long-term direction for the organisation.
