Summary
We are looking for a “Head of Finance & Controlling (f/m/d)” for the “F&C Optronics” division at the Oberkochen site at the earliest possible date.
The “F&C Optronics” department is responsible for all commercial tasks of the site, including management and control to realize the business objectives. The tasks include ensuring financial planning, preparing offers, budget and risk management as well as controlling.

Your Tasks

  • Alignment and management of the objectives of the Naval / SecSol and Industrial Commercial Solutions program areas with regard to business aspects (OI, revenue, PGM, EBITDA, NWC, FCF)
  • Sparring partner and co-pilot for the program area and support from a financial perspective in identifying and highlighting short, medium and long-term business development
  • Early recognition and identification of risks and opportunities as well as proactive development and coordination of action plans with the program areas and active support of the program area in the acquisition of orders and ensuring the implementation of financial targets
  • Preparing commercial offers and ensuring a consistent commercial presentation and approach to customers
  • Maintaining contacts with domestic and foreign customers, defining bid strategies
  • Conducting contract negotiations in cooperation with the legal department and the program areas
  • Planning and implementing highly complex projects with a focus on milestones, financial project management, defining target costs and deadlines, cost monitoring including identifying opportunities and risks as well as claim and change management
  • Regularly informing the program area about the financial status of the area and the projects and proactively questioning the project methods in order to increase the quality and efficiency of the program area as well as monitoring the fulfillment of contracts and, if necessary, the performance of subcontractors and clarifying critical escalations
  • Responsibility for ensuring balance sheet compliance and support in the regular closing activities of the program areas as well as acting as contact person for auditors and tax auditors and consideration of business cases, investment planning and capital commitment
  • Disciplinary management of an internationally operating project sales team, area controlling and internal sales and proactive coordination with internal stakeholders (program area and department management, operations, technology and corporate functions)

Willingness to travel regularly is required.

Your Profile

  • Education with >7 years of professional experience or preferably an academic degree in business administration (or comparable subject) with >5 years of professional experience with a deep understanding of the interfaces between all financial areas
  • Expert knowledge in the financial areas (e.g. accounting, taxes, controlling) and very good understanding of P&L and balance sheet, focus on project-relevant items (e.g. accounts receivable, inventories, accounts payable)
  • Experience in the execution of complex projects (e.g. contractual or customer-related complexity), including expertise in the application of various project management tools and frameworks (e.g. waterfall, agile / scrum), depending on the requirements of the projects
  • Excellent knowledge of (inter)national contract law and the ability to identify and analyze risks, solve contractual problems and negotiate complex contracts. Very good understanding of the technical aspects of the project and the link between project and overall objectives (for example at program and department level).
  • Forward and entrepreneurial thinking (acting as an “entrepreneur”), proactive and critical questioning
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Flexible, agile and solution-oriented mindset
  • Intercultural competence and ability to lead and motivate a team, negotiation and assertiveness skills as well as very good communication skills in dealing with different stakeholders
