Location: Lincoln & Hybrid
Employment Type: Part-Time (4 Days per Week)
Salary: Up to £60,000 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), pro-rated for a 4-day workweek

Requirements

  • Part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), qualified by experience, or AAT qualified.
  • Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Ability to take on approximately 70% of the responsibilities listed.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

My client, a dynamic and supportive organisation led by a communicative CEO, is seeking an Accountant to join their finance team. In this role, you will take on a range of financial responsibilities to support the company’s growth and financial health. The ideal candidate will be either part-qualified, qualified by experience, or AAT qualified.
You do not need to have experience with every aspect of the job description, but you should be comfortable with around 70% of the listed responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, control accounts, and reconciliations.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly finance reports for the Board, incorporating variance analysis and cash flow statements.
  • Compile and produce a comprehensive year-end file for accountants and auditors.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Oversee budget planning, reforecasting, and performance measures.
  • Assist with profitability calculations for potential and new products or events

Financial Systems & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to best practices for financial systems and processes through regular reviews.
  • Provide financial support for new initiatives, events, or activities to assess financial viability.
  • Support budget managers in meeting financial targets.

Payroll & Year-End Procedures

  • Process monthly payroll, including pensions and statutory declarations.
  • Manage year-end procedures, including P11Ds.

Additional Financial Duties

  • Complete financial claims and applications for funded projects.
  • Prepare annual confirmation statements and review director details for updates.
  • Support the implementation of effective corporate governance procedures.
  • Monitor and review the company’s insurance provision annually.
  • Act as the main point of contact with the bank, ensuring all mandates are current.
  • Maintain records of continuing professional development (CPD).
  • Oversee the maintenance of buildings, ensuring compliance with legal and health and safety standards.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, develop, and coach the finance and facilities teams.
  • Implement and manage a Performance Management System, focusing on succession planning.

Resource Management & Reporting

  • Ensure the efficient use of resources across all departments.
  • Initiate regular briefings and progress reports for the team, interfacing with the Board and CEO.
  • Attend occasional evening and weekend corporate events.
