Job Description
We’re recruiting for a Head Of Financial Performance & Analysis and Investments to join us on a 12 month Maternity cover. L&G Suburban BTR (Build to Rent) is a new wholly owned subsidiary of Legal & General, tasked with bringing much needed institutional capital to the nascent UK BTR family housing sector. In this role you will be leading the Financial Performance & Analysis and Investment function, working closely with the L&G Suburban BTR Executive Team, wider Suburban BTR colleagues and L&G Capital.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading financial performance & analysis within the Suburban BTR team, ensuring high quality analysis, planning and reporting. Manage and inform the discussion on the optimum target property types, locations and operations to ensure profitability is maximised whilst risk is appropriately managed
- Leading the production of the key business financial models, ensuring they remain accurate and delivers the analytical capabilities a fast-moving business requires through flexibility and ease of use of the model
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial systems to be used for the appraisal of the divisions development schemes, in accordance with the development assumptions approved by the Board
- Providing support to the development and new business teams with their scheme & project appraisals, through financial analysis and supply of appropriate models
- Supporting the business with ad hoc analysis required for the purposes of debt and equity raising and producing analysis required for investor materials and decision making
- Ensuring that Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) is considered throughout the product lifecycle, to enable the development of products that meet customers’ needs at an appropriate cost, which promote Legal & General’s image as a firm where the fair treatment of customers is central to the corporate culture
- Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- Technical financial and commercial knowledge
- Good knowledge of different corporate and tax structures employed in real estate finance
- Expert-level knowledge of financial analysis and reporting
- Detailed understanding of the drivers of profitability
- Experience in real estate industry
- Specific development and/or housing experience in a similar role desirable
- Delivery focussed and ability to plan and execute projects across multi-disciplinary teams
- Outstanding excel, problem solving and analytical skills
