Job Description
We are looking for Head of Financial Service Centre Finland.
Financial Service Centre (FSC) consists of 30 finance professionals and supports AFRY companies by providing transactional financial services (accounts receivable, payments, accounts payable, travel claims, project accounting, vendor and customer master data) to subsidiaries in Finland, Central Europe, UK, and Nordics. Additionally, FSC is responsible for financial accounting and reporting of Finnish subsidiaries.
The FSC team is located in Vantaa, Finland, but both the team and environment are international. We are currently developing our operating model of a shared service center and want to raise our working processes to the next level to meet and support common standards within AFRY. To lead the operations and team in this interesting phase, we are looking for an experienced leader to a permanent role. In this role, you report to Director, Group Shared Services at AFRY HQ in Sweden.

Responsibilities of Head of Financial Service Centre

  • Leader for 3 – 4 direct reports who are all team leaders: team leader for general ledger, team leader for accounts receivable and travel claims, and team leader for accounts payable and project accounting
  • Overall responsibility and development of FSC operations as well as its team members
  • Communicating and ensuring that group finance directives are implemented in Finland
  • Budgeting and follow-up of local and global support functions in Finland
  • Close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders, e.g., other support functions and external auditors
  • Substance support to accounting and controlling teams in Finland
  • Global support especially to financial systems team but also to wider finance community
  • Participation in internal development projects in finance

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has

  • Strong leadership skills. Experience in leading team leaders is a strong asset.
  • Motivation to constant development of processes and ways of working, ability to think strategically, prioritize and carry on changes. Experience in operating in a shared service center model is a strong asset.
  • Strong co-operation and communication skills
  • Independent and self-initiated way of working and hands-on attitude
  • Strong experience in accounting standards, especially IFRS and Finnish accounting standards
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and ensure accuracy within all deliverables
  • Excellent language skills in English and Finnish; Swedish is an asset
  • Fluent software skills, especially MS Office -tools / Excel; Maconomy experience is preferred.
