Join Arriva UK Trains for an exciting new opportunity within our dynamic Business Growth team! We’re looking for a passionate Head of Fleet Engineering to play a key role as our technical expert, providing top tier rolling stock and fleet maintenance expertise. In this high-impact role, you will report directly to the Fleet Director, helping to drive the success of Arriva UK Trains.

• The Head of Fleet Engineering will be responsible for creating bid fleet strategies and authoring bid responses relating to maintenance solutions, new trains, reliability, safety and fleet cleaning.
• You will be required to create maintenance and technical specifications for new and existing rolling stock across the Arriva UK Trains’ business units.
• Within this role, you will challenge our business units on their future fleet and maintenance solutions, maintenance organisations charts and responsibilities, refurbishment scopes and mid-life works.
• You will also act as the subject matter expert for all queries relating to the acceptance, certification, safety, infrastructure, interfaces, maintenance and operation of rolling stock, whilst also keeping up to date on new technology and best practice within the industry.
• Creation of cost models relating to train maintenance will also be a key part of your role, as well as data analysis, assessing reliability and growth predictions utilising Excel.
• You will act as the key supplier liaison, building up those supplier relationships whilst also developing partnership strategies to ensure that we have long lasting relationships.
