HEAD OF FP&A (FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS) – ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE PLATFORM

A fast-growth Berlin-based transport decarbonisation platform, backed by a major global energy investor, is seeking a Head of FP&A to support the growth of the organisation and its finance department.
In this role, you will work closely with the CFO and the wider investment team within the backing investor.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate for this role will have a systematic and structured mindset, good analytical and organisational skills, and a focus on quality end results. They will have a strong background in financial modelling (ideally within a Power, Energy, or Infrastructure setting) and will be comfortable creating financial models and complex portfolio models from scratch and maintaining them, as well as creating presentations to convey the data in an accessible way to a variety of stakeholders. They need to be comfortable working autonomously. Additional experience in investment / strategy / finance is welcomed.

Must haves:

• The ability to create from scratch and maintain financial models.
• Knowledge of financial analysis with deep understanding of financial statements.
• An analytical approach to analysis and reporting.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting / audit firm or in FP&A / strategy or investment department of relevant industry company.
• Fluent command of the English language.

Nice to haves:

• A financial or investment qualification is welcomed (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CFA).
• Exposure to Energy, Power, Infrastructure, or related Real Asset segments preferred.
• Fluency in German or any additional European language would be a plus.

As the Head of FP&A, you will be responsible for forecasting and budgeting for the organisation, as well as influencing company-wide decisions by providing financial models and presentations to the all the main stakeholders internally and the key investor.

You will be responsible for:

• Actualising and updating the integrated financial model for the company.
• Modelling the budget.
• Completing financial analysis of new opportunities.
• Supporting M&A processes.
• Preparing reporting materials for management and board meetings.
• Supporting off-take analysis and structuring.
• Leading the FP&A activity.
• Ad-hoc finance, strategy, and reporting work.
