Join the Close Brothers Operational Risk team where you will defines and embeds operational risk management policy, framework, systems and processes throughout the Close Brothers Group.
Working as part of the Operational Risk team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in Financial Services risk management roles with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the Operational Risk Governance and Reporting team as a second line of defence in the day to day execution and management of the operational risk framework
  • Engage with stakeholders at Senior Management levels across the Group providing support for risk based decision making and assurance on controls efficacy
  • Enhance and embed improvements to the Group’s operational risk policy and standards suite, working closely with the Group Head of Operational Risk, Group Head of Operational Risk and Compliance and the Group Chief Risk Officer
  • Provide supporting toolsets that enable businesses and functions to effectively manage and demonstrate management of their operational risks
  • Lead articulation and periodic refresh of the Group’s operational risk appetite, including working with the Group Head of Operational Risk to obtain annual Board agreement of risk appetite statements and supporting indicators
  • Provide direction, advice and independent challenge to business and functional teams regarding operational risk exposures to improve the risk and control environment
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities
    Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
