Description:

As the Head of Housekeeping, you will be pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation in both guest rooms and public areas. Your leadership will ensure guests experience the luxury and comfort they expect from our client’s lodge. You will oversee daily operations, develop comprehensive cleaning protocols, conduct regular inspections, manage inventory, and train and mentor the housekeeping staff. Your ability to coordinate with other departments and maintain impeccable standards will be crucial in providing a flawless guest experience.

Compensation
Dependent on experience, but will include lodging and meals during time at camp. Due to the camp’s location, all staff will work on a rotational basis, likely 6-8 weeks on and 10-14 days off.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance management.
Ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and attractiveness of all guest rooms and public areas.
Develop and implement comprehensive cleaning protocols to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and aesthetics.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas, addressing any deficiencies or maintenance issues promptly.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, place orders as needed, and ensure proper storage and usage.
Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including room occupancy, cleaning schedules, and staff performance evaluations, and prepare reports as required by management.
Train and mentor housekeeping staff, fostering a team environment focused on exceptional guest service and attention to detail.
Liaise with other departments, such as maintenance and guest services, to ensure seamless coordination and a flawless guest experience.
Implement and maintain high standards for staff hygiene, personal presentation, and professionalism.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and hygiene protocols for luxury hospitality environments.
Matric with minimum English and Math Literacy.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory housekeeping role within a 4-5 star luxury hotel or lodge.
Proven track record of exceeding guest expectations and maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness.
Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for creating a flawless guest experience.
In-depth knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning products, and equipment.
Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Proficiency in hospitality management software is a plus.
