Description:

We are currently seeking a hands-on, engaged, and dynamic higher education Human Resources Leader to join our team as a consultant and working Head of Human Resources. This role is primarily remote with the need to travel occasionally to a mid-sized community college in Maryland. As a CampusWorks consultant and Senior Human Resources Executive, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of integrated HR programs and services. This role reports to the Executive VP for Finance and Administration and involves collaboration with college leadership, management of a 12-member HR team, and driving process, system, and cultural changes.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Master’s degree or JD in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including 6 years in employee relations and generalist roles, preferably in higher education and labor relations.
  • Professional certification (e.g., SPHR/PHR) preferred.
  • Utilize MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) effectively.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of HR functional areas such as recruitment, compensation, benefits, and organizational development.
  • Manage HRIS systems, including ERP and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Understand FERPA, HIPAA, and public information act(s).
  • Demonstrate change in culture, processes, and systems through consultative approaches.
  • Handle budget development, implementation, and reporting.
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Ellucian Colleague.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR plans to meet the needs of a vibrant and diverse community college campus community, with multiple locations.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to align HR strategies with institutional goals.
  • Provide proactive coaching and mentoring to managers and leaders, equipping them with the skills and strategies needed to address personnel issues effectively and foster a positive, productive work environment.
  • Manage all HR functions including recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, organizational development, and personnel records.
  • Oversee the administration and optimization of HRIS systems.
  • Provide consultative guidance on HR matters, employee relations, and organizational development, driving cultural, process, and system changes.
  • Evaluate and enhance HR processes to improve service delivery and increase employee productivity.
  • Implement strategies to build a customer service-oriented HR infrastructure that meets diverse constituent needs.
