Head of Integrated Logistics Procurement and Supplier Management

We are looking for an experienced and engaged Head of Procurement and Supplier Management who could join us in Luxemburg, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Paris or any major European city.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

• Professional logistics and supply chain education mandatory;
• Academic degree in supply chain management or business-related field preferred;
• >10 years of logistics market experience (preferably global scope covering all transport modes);
• Practical experience in sourcing and procurement of logistics services;
• Proven track record in leading global teams;
• In-depth knowledge of global logistics markets across all modes of transport;
• Strong commercial and analytical acumen;
• Experience in procurement workflows, sourcing tools, and tender analytics;
• Leadership skills to lead diverse teams across multiple regions toward a common goal;
• Strategic thinking to drive evolution and positioning of 4PL strategic sourcing service offering;
• Customer engagement skills to support commercial development of Integrated Logistics;
• Willingness to travel up to 40% (approx. two-thirds of travel within Europe, one-third international);
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

YOUR ROLE

Development of 4PL procurement service offering in alignment with global market developments, Integrated Logistics market positioning, and customer requirements. Management of a global procurement team covering strategic sourcing, rate and tender management, and market intelligence. Take responsibility for commercial development of procurement service for existing customers as well as for new customer engagements. Support key customer engagements during the entire engagement cycle concerning 4PL procurement services.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure suitable staffing and succession planning for team roles and CoE resources;
• Manage direct reports, including target setting and development;
• Align target achievement with budget;
• Support the rollout of strategic 4PL procurement services;
• Engage with key customers on procurement topics, focusing on LSP and carrier contracting;
• Support selection and upkeep of software tools for rate and tender management;
• Align CoE resources to tender projects at the account level;
• Collaborate with IL stakeholders for alignment with the digital roadmap;
• Refine market intelligence services based on market trends and customer needs;
• Position market intelligence services within Kuehne + Nagel’s 4PL offerings;
• Ensure access to relevant information for market insights;
• Comply with pharma, healthcare, and internal regulations, including GDP and customer quality standards.
