Description:

Overview:
The Head of International will drive and coordinate the strategic positioning of State Street across our International locations. In collaboration with global and international leadership, develop and execute a multi-year business strategy, creating a sense of urgency around client satisfaction and high levels of employee engagement. Working with your HR Business Partner create a talent action plan that ensures the International business is positioned to attract retain and develop industry leading talent. Ensure regulatory compliance with all respective regulators while developing strong relationships with key regulators across International. Ensure consistent governance through leadership of State Street Holdings International. Oversee and lead the IS business in the International locations.
While the role is posted in Munich the location of this role is agnostic and can be based in any of our EMEA and APAC office locations.

Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the global business heads, the role has responsibility for the strategic direction/execution, management and growth of State Street’s International business.
  • The IS heads for SSBI, the UK, Ireland, APAC and Emerging Growth will report into the Head of International.
  • Continue the growth of State Street’s market share in mature markets and positioning State Street for growth in emerging markets.
  • Seek and execute opportunities in conjunction with Global Business heads for non-organic expansion opportunities that fit with State Street corporate strategy.
  • Responsibility for developing and implementing client engagement efforts across all business lines and building State Street’s profile and position in international markets through the development of strategic partnerships with clients and prospects.
  • Working collaboratively with regional and global management to create alignment of State Street’s capabilities with client’s business strategy/direction.
  • Raise market profile and improve State Street’s brand across International.
  • Utilize industry network to penetrate market and bring on new customers across the full spectrum of investment servicing products.
  • Attract, retain and develop a high performing, engaged and diverse international workforce. Ensure effective succession planning and talent management across the businesses and corporate functions to creating opportunities for staff across State Street International.
  • Seek and execute opportunities for talent acceleration from within global hubs to expand hub scope and ownership of key functions within State Street
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all respective regulators and drive the management of relationships with key regulators across international. Develop, maintain and influence non-US regulatory authorities via open and constructive relationships.
  • Drive an effective control environment by ensuring systems, processes and procedures mitigate risk and are fully compliant with standards and regulations.
  • Ensure effective alignment between State Street Holdings International and corporate governance goals.
  • Optimize resource allocation to efficiently allocate time and resources to maximize productivity and achieve strategic and commercial goals.
  • Provide transformational leadership and increase the capability of the organization to successfully evolving the International business in support of corporate transformation goals.
  • Cooperate with the Product Organization in developing value propositions that combine the

best product capabilities and thought leadership State Street has to offer.

Job Requirements:

  • This individual must be a hands-on (player/coach) and able to shift from formulating strategy to implementing and executing operational plans.
  • This leader will be a relentless driver of continuous, revenue growth, performance and productivity improvement.
  • An outstanding team and people developer, he/she will be passionate about client advocacy and will be an inspirational leader in front of clients and colleagues alike.
  • 20+ years of experience in senior-level roles managing multi-jurisdictional financial services organizations. A proven track record working directly with employees, clients and regulators demonstrating an ability to deliver results across all stakeholders.
  • Achieve net growth in revenues and client wallet share relative to industry peers.
  • Improve profitability.
  • A proven track record in growing businesses in the financial services industry. Developing sales, relationship management and client service strategies and driving to execution with proven results.
  • Builds and maintains deep ‘partner based’ relationships with C-Suite at clients and prospects.
  • Understands State Street’s industry, competitor positioning and client base, while also awareness of global technology trends and how to apply those to support digital transformation.
