Your role

You’ll be a part of our People & Development Function and a member of our People & Development Leadership Team based in any one of our Australian offices (Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney).
This pivotal role will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our leadership development and learning initiatives, with a focus on excellence and best practice in these areas. Harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies to enhance our legal services and professional development will be expected to ensure we’re staying abreast of trends.

As a Head of Leadership and Learning you will:

  • Develop and implement cutting-edge leadership programs that are in harmony with the Firm’s strategic direction, core values, client focus, and cultural ethos.
  • Collaborate with senior management, partners and the Firm’s Leadership Teams to pinpoint and address learning needs, constructing a strategic transformation framework that propels the firm forward.
  • Lead the Learning & Development Team, fostering a unified approach to leadership and learning across all staff levels.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends in leadership and learning methodologies including digital innovation to ensure our programs remain at the forefront of the industry.
  • Explore and integrate innovative learning solutions, including the adoption of AI and advanced technologies, to ensure our employee’s proficiency with state-of-the-art tools.
  • Implement continuing legal education initiatives to maintain compliance and facilitate the ongoing professional development of our lawyers.
  • Cultivate a mentorship and coaching culture among senior legal staff to bolster the professional growth of emerging lawyers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and leverage data to inform and enhance future initiatives.

About you

You will have:

  • A degree in Organisational Development, Human Resources, Education or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the requirements for Legal Education and other mandatory legal training programs.
  • Experience leading a learning function in a previous role within a similar, complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective legal training and leadership or executive programs.
  • Experience in leading tech-driven change initiatives and fostering a culture of digital innovation.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • An ability to influence senior stakeholders within an organisation and drive strategic transformation.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network, mentor others.
