Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As the Global Head of Legal and Compliance, you will play a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions, critical to support our business growth.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, HR, QHSE and leadership, ensuring that all activities adhere to the highest professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory laws and regulations whilst fostering a culture of compliance.

WHAT ARE THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Overall: Support the company across various legal areas, including but not limited to International trade law, contract law, labour law, commercial contracting, litigation, corporate law etc.
  • Legal Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with local (Netherlands), European Union, and International laws, including ITAR, EAR, Dual Use and other international trade regulations.
  • Risk Management: Provide strategic advice on legal risks and business impacts of commercial contracts and framework agreements with suppliers and distributors in multiple jurisdictions
  • Corporate Governance: Advise senior management on corporate law matters, including corporate structures, governance and global compliance best practices.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all aspects of the business.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters, including negotiations, settlements, and representation in legal proceedings.
  • Intellectual Property Protection: Manage and protect the companies intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Contract Review: Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, employee contracts and licensing agreements.
  • Training and Education: Conduct legal training sessions and workshops for employees to enhance legal awareness and promote compliance culture within the organization.
  • Collaboration: Build a team of experts over time and lead engagements with external counsels.
