Responsibilities:
We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our in-house legal department (currently a team of ten) and play an essential part in our planning/highways projects, and to lead the team for a minimum 9-month period, with potential to be extended to a maximum of 12 months.
You will report to the Deputy Director of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer and have the opportunity to work with our Planning and Highways Departments on a range of interesting, high profile and rewarding projects and be the lead legal advisor to all planning committees (this may, at times, require in-person attendance at evening meetings).
As well as maintaining your own planning and highways case load, you will be managing 6 members of the team, including undertaking 1:2:1s, and dealing with day-to-day management of the legal team.
This position will suit a legal professional with a strong understanding and knowledge of planning and highways law/CIL and will equally suit individuals with either a public or private sector background.
