Description:

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

  • University degree major in business/economics, law or relevant business discipline. CFA and/or MBA a plus

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  • [x]+ years of managing people in relevant deal-making, credit analysis and transaction execution in the banking industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a newly established team and build a culture of excellence and engagement
  • Make TM an inspiring place to work, with a strong focus on people management and development through on the job training, individual development plans, performance management, workload balancing and career path monitoring
  • Be a champion and actively support the rollout and success of the training and development programs such as the Early Career Track program.
  • Interface with the sector heads to optimize staffing of new lending opportunities and marketing activities;
  • Create a sense of identity by closely aligning the team to the bank strategy and through building a mindset of collaboration and can-do spirit across the full value chain from Sectors, to TM and Portfolio Management

  • The TM Team will be involved with every new lending transaction and will take primary responsibility for some of the key processes including:
  • Review and analysis of financial statements, market reports and transaction related due diligence.
  • Evaluation of transaction opportunities and assess creditworthiness of borrowers and relevant counterparties through identification of their key strengths, weaknesses and mitigating factors, and the relevant sector origination guidelines;
  • Preparation of credit approval packages and managment of the credit approval process for lending and/or credit limits (including financial market limits and transaction services limits) and act as per the Sector/Lending activity role matrix.
  • Conduct in-depth credit analyses including financial modelling and sensitivity analysis, and performing comprehensive due diligence of borrowers seeking asset-based loans, project finance or corporate / cash flow based lending solutions;
  • Interface with internal stakeholders (e.g. originations, capital markets, risk, etc.), loan operations, treasury and other groups within the firm to establish appropriate risk tolerance and to comply with internal policies.
  • The TM Team also supports Sector origination colleagues in pre- and post credit approval execution, including:
  • Drafting, review and negotiation of term sheets and loan documentation with clients, in close collaboration with the coverage team, Risk and Legal (if required, with outside legal counsel);
  • Ensuring successful close of transactions including closing requirements;
  • The TM will work closely with the client relationship managers and/or deal principals on origination and deal structuring activities, including:
  • Preparation of marketing materials and negotiation of terms and conditions with clients;
  • Run internal risk rating and loan pricing models;
  • Preparation of greenlight/screening memos for discussion with committees (e.g. commercial, risk, etc.);
  • Recommendation and analysis of loan structures;
  • Attendance of client meetings/calls, including transaction-related due diligence
  • Build a culture of operational excellence
  • Stay up-to-date on organizational operating policies and procedures (i.e. Risk, Legal, etc.) to ensure appropriate protocols are implemented and followed, and facilitate accordingly;
  • Closely coordinate and track activities, deliverables and accomplishments across multiple initiatives / projects;
  • Identify productivity trends across the Front Office organization and use insights from reporting to create and drive efficient processes and improve productivity;
  • Actively participate in the design and implementation of lending transformation projects.
