Description:

Our client is a leading manufacturing business with continued and ambitious growth across all areas of the company and group.
At their state of art facility in Irvine they manufacture their products using the most up to date technology and currently have the requirement for an experienced General/Operations Manager who will be required to manage and co-ordinate the productivity of all manufacturing staff to achieve production metrics including throughput, changeover times, minimising downtime and driving ongoing improvement.
Reporting to the Director of Plant, your responsibilities will include ensuring that all orders are manufactured and dispatched in a timely manner. Additionally, you will be required to uphold and ensure compliance with all operational, administrative, Health & Safety (H&S), and business control procedures.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 Years’ experience operating at a similar level within a manufacturing facility.
  • Have a proven track record in good manufacturing and lean principles.
  • Ability to engage with a design team to ensure manufacturing is optimised and on time delivery achieved.
  • Excellent man-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Passionate about meeting both Customer and Company expectations.
  • IT literate.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the plant meets its customer quality, service and safety goals through effective management of the manufacturing unit
  • To lead and manage assigned operations manufacturing and / or support functions at the site
  • Manage, direct and lead all project teams to develop and implement strategic change within the plant
  • Overseeing the reporting and resolution of all incidents/accidents and the correct use of specified PPE.
  • Establish strong working relationships with all departments ensuring a cohesive approach to delivery of budgeted metrics and other key performance indicators.
  • Checking that material delivery and returns are in line with good manufacturing practice standards - correctly labelled, wrapped, stored and transported.
  • Managing resources available for each shift based on the production schedule and that appropriate control is exercised on overtime spend and other production costs.
  • Implement improvements to standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement in production and safety.
  • Ownership for product procurement and stock contract.
  • Ensure the site uptime is maximised through preventative maintenance programme.
