The role
As Head of Marketing, Italy, you will play a pivotal role in developing, adapting, and executing our global marketing strategy across the Italian market. This includes planning and implementing pre-launch, launch, and life-cycle management activities for our endocrine product portfolio. Working from our Milan office, you will also drive locally relevant activities to maximize the brand equity of Ascendis’ TransCon products at every stage of their lifecycle. Reporting directly to the General Manager, Italy, you’ll need to be based within commuting distance of Milan or willing to relocate, with travel as required.

Your key responsibilities will be

  • Preparation of the palopegteriparatide and other launches to follow in collaboration with all relevant functions, coordinating and aligning both in country and above country activities
  • Develop and implement robust marketing plans, supported by appropriate financial analysis, planning and desired ROI (Return on investment) and managing the overall marketing budget
  • Close interaction with the Head of European launch management, Other Marketing Country Leads, the Local General Manager, and all relevant country functions to roll out Brand Plans
  • Responsible for conferences/events commercial participation and in charge of all mandatory activities to support those events.
  • Drive a relevant digital presence for Ascendis in Italy, in alignment with Global remit
  • Be a hands-on driver of Italy business and launch team.
  • Development of a strong national networks and contacts to relevant interest groups
  • Securing and promoting cross-functional cooperation; being an interface between internal sales, medicine, market access, sales, research, and development teams but also external stakeholders for knowledge transfer and content creation

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in health sciences; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years in marketing within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in rare diseases or endocrinology therapeutic areas is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and start-up environment exposure.
  • Ability to translate scientific insights into business strategies.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
