A pivotal role here at Hallmark, you’ll be responsible for delivery of all key financial Merchandising KPI’s across our business. At ease with the big picture strategies, as you are with the detail, you relish being customer facing as it enables you to maintain, develop and contribute to a profitable business plan across all formats and product areas. Leading a team of Merchandise Planners you’ll ensure the right information is available to the right people, at the right time to facilitate right first time decisions across product and range and supply planning.

Responsibilities:

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Lead Net GI and EPOS planning for customers with multi-million pound sale turnovers
  • Ensure all factors, internal and external are identified and evaluated with clear assumptions and contingency plans to successfully deliver agreed plan.
  • Secure key stakeholders alignment to plan, both internal and external. Define all action required to deliver plan supported by KPI’s were relevant.
  • Drive effective trading activity by analysing and evaluating of performance to ensure interventions needed to maximize sales or mitigate risk are clearly identified.
  • Develop strong cross functional relationships and understanding of each function to ensure all interventions / activities are delivered in the most effective and profitable way.
  • Use financial analysis to generate, evaluate and deliver on strategic opportunities for the future aligned to the strategic direction of both the customer and HMK.
  • Define and set the customer Joint Business Plan alongside the Head of Commercial
  • Development of immediate team and contribution to the success of the wider merchandising team.
  • Functional specialist Lead within wider business initiatives to drive efficiencies, improved ways of working and increased profit.

A CENTRAL ROLE WITHIN OUR MATRIX MANAGED BUSINESS, TO BE SUCCESSFUL WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU TO DEMONSTRATE:

  • Solid experience of working in Merchandising Planning role within a Retail / FMCG business
  • Proven experience of influencing others across multiple functions, internally and externally
  • Excellent excel, numeric and analytical abilities to identify commercial insights relevant to our audience
  • A confident communicator, able to adjust their approach to varying audiences, marrying your superior presentation skills with your skilled use of data and insights
  • Wider commercial thinking to engage and influence key stakeholders across the business and ensure profit growth is core to all decisions made.
  • Thorough knowledge of the retail planning process and the ability to motivate, inspire and lead those around them
  • To be a confident, considered data driven decision maker, at ease with making decisions efficiently, with strategy and business plans
  • To be organised, with a keen eye of the details, with experience of planning and forecasting sales across multiple seasons/customers
  • A natural leader, with previous experience of leading a team being an advantage.
  • To be seen as a technical expert by your peers and fellow merchandise team
  • A solid awareness of retail, and ideally our category, influences which are factored in to your decision making to mitigate risks to sales
