The Role:
As Head of Nursing, you will lead, direct, and support nursing services across our UK network. You will be instrumental in ensuring clinical and operational excellence, maintaining the highest standards of patient care, and fostering a culture of quality and safety across our nursing teams. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards, and support workforce planning, service development, and strategic growth initiatives. What You’ll Do:

  • Provide strategic leadership and professional oversight of nursing services, aligning with organisational goals, clinical excellence, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care through data-driven performance management, quality assurance, and adherence to nursing best practice.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development for nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compassionate care.
  • Promote safety, regulatory compliance, standardisation, and ongoing training while championing innovation, research, and best practice adoption within the team.

What You’ll Have:

Experience and skills:

  • Proven leadership experience in an oncology senior nursing role within healthcare, including operational and clinical management.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing regulations, professional standards, and evidence-based care.
  • Significant experience in leading and managing organisational change within healthcare, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders, promote innovation, and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive clinical and operational excellence through change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
  • Experience in workforce planning, recruitment, and professional development.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare service delivery, patient safety protocols, and quality improvement processes.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC registration.
  • Previous experience leading a team in the SACT environment
  • Relevant undergraduate degree in nursing or healthcare management (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of best practices in nursing and patient care delivery.

Other requirements for this role:

  • Prepared to travel across the UK as needed.
  • Deputise for the Director of Clinical Services when required.
  • Carry out additional duties commensurate with the level of the job role
