This is an exciting new leadership opportunity which will involve significant interaction at the VP level to realise the ambition of Smart factories driving strategic level partnership with IT.
This is a senior role accountable for leading, in collaboration with IT, a key part of AstraZeneca’s Smart factory ambition as part of Operations 2025. You will be expected to lead a globally distributed team and develop the Operational Technology and Connectivity strategy for AstraZeneca Operations globally.
Joining the Engineering Technical Services leadership, you’ll ensure successful realisation of our Smart Factories ambition and ensure ETS has the correct resources to support the enterprise in line with GERE’s three value pillars. We will need you to, in partnership with IT, play an integral part in Connected Factory Governance accountable for ensuring the robustness of defence of our OT infrastructure against Cyber-attack.

REQUIRED CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent Professional Engineering Qualification. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Fundamental Understanding of OT application in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to influence strategically and persuade considerately, to acquire desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive organisational relationships. We are looking for an engaging and confident communicator who is able to network optimally multi-functionally and at all levels
  • Significant experience of working and delivering in large complex organisations

Responsibilities:

We’ll ask you to take a leadership role developing the Enterprise Smart Factory ambition in full partnership at a strategic level, with IT to deliver initiatives such as “Autonomous Manufacturing” and the next generation of architecture. This will involve embracing all areas of Connectivity and Operational Technology whilst recognising, valuing and fully demonstrating the diversity of thought in our workplace to build a culture that promotes equality and delivers successful results.
You’ll lead the Operational Technology and Connectivity Team of SMEs delivering across all three GERE value streams whilst collaborating and coaching to find new solutions.
You will drive the creation and adoption of effective standards and ways of working for Operational Technology to ensure realisation of AZ’s smart factory ambition
You’ll play a key part in Connected Factory Governance for the Enterprise in partnership with Global functions and sites across the network ensuring the cyber security of our Operations network
An integral member of the ETS leadership team, you’ll shape technology integration on behalf of GERE across Global Operations for critical technologies relating to all areas of OT and Smart/Autonomous Factories.
We’ll support you to represent AstraZeneca on relevant external networks and technology boards for Operational Technology. This will involve collaborating effectively, developing and sustaining strategic relationships which facilitate access to innovation and expertise.
