Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Group Chief Actuary, you will provide leadership and support in relation to Group Actuarial and Group Finance strategic priorities and in the operational management of the Group Actuarial function
- Work closely with the Group Chief Actuary and other Group Actuarial leaders to execute on key strategic priorities, focused on ensuring a high impact Group Actuarial function, one that is driven to add value across a wide range of areas
- Contribute operational & analytical leadership and capability to Group Actuarial and to the wider global actuarial community
- Oversee a range of Group Actuarial processes and initiatives, particularly those relating to the quarterly actuarial reporting process and related insights, Asset Liability Management (ALM) and reinsurance analysis
- Collaborate closely with key senior stakeholders across the QBE Group, including Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Reinsurance and Risk colleagues
- Support the Group Chief Actuary to identify and execute initiatives to increase operational efficiency
About you
- Significant prior experience in corporate or consulting environments, ideally both, the majority working in general insurance
- Experience of leading operational processes and providing insight from technical analysis
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at executive and board level
- Detailed understanding of business process, strategic planning and compliance
- Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to turn detailed technical analysis into commercial or strategic insight
