What is the job role?
Coventry City Council is seeking an experienced leader to join our Adult Social Care team as the Head of Operations and Safeguarding. In this pivotal role, you will lead our efforts to deliver high-quality care and support services for adults across the city, ensuring the well-being and independence of our most vulnerable residents.
As Head of Operations and Safeguarding you will be responsible for shaping and implementing strategic initiatives, driving innovation, and working closely with partners across health and social care sectors.
You will lead a dedicated team, managing budgets and resources efficiently to meet the needs of our culturally diverse communities You will ensure the service is ‘inspection ready’ through effective leadership and management of all areas of social work, safeguarding and provider services.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a leader with a strong background in adult social care with senior experience in Mental Health services and Transforming Care particularly, excellent communication skills, and a proven history of delivering results in a complex environment.
Your ability to inspire and motivate teams, along with your commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, will be key to your success in this role.
