The Head of E-Commerce Business is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s online business operations, focusing on expanding brand reach, driving sales, and enhancing the overall digital customer experience. This role requires strategic leadership, cross-departmental collaboration, and a deep understanding of e-commerce platforms and digital marketing strategies.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational Background: Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a commercial role, with experience in international B2B online business preferred.
  • E-commerce Expertise: Proficiency with platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, and HubSpot.
  • Digital Marketing Skills: Strong background in digital advertising, including SEO, PPC, and social media marketing.
  • Design and Creativity: Experience in graphics and design, with an understanding of product photography and content creation.
  • Inventory Management: Knowledge of inventory management practices.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong commercial acumen, strategic planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • People Management: Experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing teams, with a focus on professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the e-commerce business, ensuring efficient workflow and exceptional customer service.
  • Sales Performance: Drive and optimise sales performance through targeted campaigns and effective channel management.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive promotional campaigns and strategies that align with the company’s goals.
  • Content Collaboration: Work closely with content marketing and design teams to create engaging and relevant content for each stage of the customer journey.
  • Conversion and Sales Strategies: Implement strategies to improve conversion rates and increase overall sales, ensuring they align with the company’s objectives.
  • Policy Development: Create and enforce e-commerce policies and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop and manage pricing strategies for the e-commerce store, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • KPI Management: Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs, working with teams to identify and address any risks to target achievement.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse internal data and web analytics to inform business decisions and strategy adjustments.
  • Inventory and Returns Management: Oversee inventory control and returns processes, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service, addressing and resolving escalations related to the e-commerce platform.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, consumer habits, and areas for growth.
  • Technology and Tools: Recommend software and tools that enhance e-commerce capabilities and performance.
